Village At Belmar

If I could give a 0 star review I would this is a horrible company to work for. The management team only cares about themselves and if you “respect” them. They don’t make sure residents are being taken care of properly. They don’t have enough staff to safely run the building. The owners only come by when someone is walking thru possibly looking to move in. The food is constantly making residents sick. They have an ant problem in most of the dinning areas they refused to do something about. It was brought up multiple times and all anyone could say was “well call them to come spray” they sprayed still had an ant problem. They allow kitchen staff to go outside and smoke in some kind of pipe as a large group during service hours. They let certain RAs and QMaps go into dinning areas but others get written up for “cross contamination”. Honestly this company picks and chooses which people matter and which people don’t. If you want your loved one to lose years off their life this is the place to send them. On over nights a resident fell the caregiver was picking up trash around the resident and asking if the resident was okay before helping them up. . They don’t really care about residents they only care about money. Around holidays the rent is raised a little bit more. Females are no longer allowed to wear nails because a nail was found in the silverware. The silverware was never cleaned until the end of the night. Very disfunctional company. They allow residents to be beaten on by spouses and “can’t” do anything about it.

Everything at VAB is perfect. The apartment is clean and roomy. Two bedrooms and two baths in all units in Independent Living. The activities that the marvelous activity director puts out each month are always really fun.

Moved my parents into the flats a few months ago. Diego and Erin have been wonderful and very attentive. There were some delays on getting work orders completed and I do understand that there are probably a lot of requests, just wish we'd get a bit more communication on status. We've also experienced quite a few Internet related issues and a couple of power outages (might be more related to the power company). Anyway, mostly a positive experience thus far at Belmar.
