If I could give this place a negative star I would. Because it doesn’t even deserve one star I was told to give this place a chance because it was under new management. My mother was admitted here after being discharged from the hospital. The only bet that was open so we had to take it because of financial situation.. some of the staff there is nice and some aren’t. I do not want to get into detail with everything that has happened there with my mother but the last incident that happened was that my mom was bleeding out of her private area in one of the residence room. Mind you she has Alzheimer’s dementia and she also wanders.. with that being said there was no one watching her caring for her like she supposed to be cared for. The emergency room had to do a forensic rape kit. This was one of the most terrible news I had to deal with. After all, this was said and done everyone seems pretty quiet., they won’t tell me who it was or which staff was working on that unit floor. Even though I know who did it. I highly highly does not recommend this place.. I have seen other residents who have lived there how they were treated day and a day out. I don’t rarely write a negative review, but this place needs to shut down. This has happened to my mom while under their care how many accidents or situations like this has happened in the past? How many complaints has been sent to the state and the health department? I am sure there is a lot, but nothing has done about it.. this place wouldn’t be so bad if they hired people that care about their job!

HORRIBLE place. DON'T LET A FEW 5-STAR RATINGS FOOL YOU. Please read the MANY one-star reviews on Google, Yelp, etc. This place is so bad that as of news reports today 8/27/25, NY State is finally stepping in to run this horrifying facility. To those of you who have given this place 4 and 5 star ratings, I'm torn between being thankful that your loved one was actually treated well, and wondering if you have actually ever seen this nightmare of a facility - which, by the way, used to be called The Shore Winds and they tried to hide that fact with renaming it "Waterview Heights". My dad lived there from 2019 to 2022, and if there were any other option that we could have done, I would have. But we ran into the Covid years and I could not get him out before he passed away. There were a few really good folks there, but they kept leaving - for good reason. I had to deal with a dozen situations of staff issues, poor treatment, and more. My family and I followed up on news reports of this place in the years since my dad passed, and the reviews stayed consistently bad. KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I pray that with NY State taking over, that the current residents will finally get the care and treatment they deserve.

I have a family member at Waterview Heights, and I am very pleased with the care that he is receiving. They have some very caring and experienced nursing staff who treat him with respect, concern and dignity. The physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy are excellent. There are many activities that help keep residents engaged and active. The food is good and plentiful. Over the past few months, I have also had great interactions with the social workers, administrative staff and front office staff, all of whom have been pleasant and helpful. Often, people only share bad reviews, and it's just as important to talk about all the positivity we have experienced with the people at Waterview Heights.
