Westerwood as a SNF and the overall (nonprofit) organization behind it deserves the highest credit for the caring staff, clean facilities and professional services it provides. While my father ultimately succumbed to his ailments, he was in good hands for the short time he was with them. The follow-on condolence card and floral arrangement they sent just blew my family away.

This is a terrible facility. They are involved with Medicare fraud and Capital City Hospice. They pushed us into getting mom into their hospice provider to supposedly administer morphine if mom took a turn for the worst to keep her comfortable, but meanwhile the Westerwood Dr was also keeping mom on blood pressure meds while she was in hospice for 2 years. During the 2 years in hospice, mom had 2 close calls and was revived with medication to bring her back. They totally disrespected our legal DNR and our wishes to keep their bed filled.The hospice company was getting roughly 6000 dollars a month from Medicare for absolutely nothing. The hospice nurse was not showing up regularly and this facility looked the other way. The communication with this facility was awful. They flat out refused to accommodate our request to communicate via email. With our jobs we can’t drop what we are doing to immediately answer the phone. This is nothing but an old and dingy money grubbing dump.The gross disrespect they had for my mother and our family was appalling. I suspect they were drugging her with morphine when she wasn’t in pain to keep her in a constant catatonic state and low maintenance for the staff. Nursing homes love hospice because it lightens the load for their staff as hospice should assume of those duties.Your not supposed to be in hospice for 2 years and you to stop all maintenance medications. You certainly are not supposed to be revived with drugs to keep you alive in hospice. The money train is leaving today. We are moving mom out of this facility. This place is Medicare fraud at its finest.

My mother was here for the last 7 months of her life from Feb - Sept of 2024. She had dementia and had a rapid decline. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE was great! They were very accommodating, understanding, courteous, friendly and helpful throughout her time there. I never once felt like she wasn't getting the care she deserved and needed. She was also happy there. She raved about how nice the "restaurant" was and that the food was good. I am forever thankful for everyone there and so happy that we found Westerwood when we needed them.
